On the battlefield. The Bombard is a siege gun on legs: one 10,650-damage plasma shell every 4.5 s that lands on everything within 15 m of where it falls, out to 100 m. In the launch tests it beats the Hexguard, Ridgeback, Courser, Cutter, Torch, Anvil, Weaver, Templar, Aegis, Tempest and Sunspire: anything that bunches up or walks slowly into its shells. It can't shoot air, and it loses to what flies, closes fast or outranges it: the Skitter, Needle, Rotor, Heron, Mirage, Seraph, Aurochs, Salvo, Rampart, Citadel, Landship, Dreadnought and Archangel. Deploy it behind your front line, centred on where the enemy's ground army will bunch up, and keep something in front of it: at 7 m/s it can't escape anything that reaches it. Outriggers brace it for a 200 m reach at 40% less damage a shell (6,390), but it can't hit anything inside 75 m, so it needs a screen; Focus Fire cuts the reload to 3.5 s and stretches the reach to 130 m, for a tighter 7 m splash; Acid Shell leaves a corroding pool of 15 m radius for 18 s that eats 3% of max HP a second and makes everything in it take +150% damage; Long Barrels add 40 m and Heavy Plating 40% HP and 60 off every hit.

The Bombard as it moves in the game: a tripod gait, three feet planted while the other three swing (11 m a 1.6 s cycle, each foot planted 55% of it), the hull a level gun platform. The turret turns the cannon up to 30° either side of the hull's heading (at 40°/s) and pitches it from -5° to 20°. For each shot the seven coils light from the breech to the muzzle over 0.9 s while the body braces, the plasma ball leaves on its arc, the front barrel slams back into its collar, the hull rocks back 2.4° on its legs and the fins vent; it is settled by 2.6 s. With Outriggers four arms swing out from under the belly and dig their spades in first. The targets stand far closer than its 100 m reach. Numbers come from the game's catalog and its animation data; the drawing is an isometric figure, not the game mesh.
