On the battlefield. The Salvo is the roster's long-range artillery: a squad of 4 tracked carriers that stays at the back and lobs 4-rocket volleys onto ground targets 4–18 tiles (40–180 m) away, 1,158 damage a rocket with a 0.5-tile splash, 18,528 for the whole squad every 6.6 s. That pays against slow, bunched ground armies and gun lines: in the launch harness at equal cost (800 coin a side) it beats the Aurochs and the Weaver, which it outranges, the Heron and the Torch. It loses to almost everything that gets close or flies. It can't shoot air, nothing inside 4 tiles can be hit, and the carriers move only 0.6 tiles/s and need to pivot their whole hull (50.75°/s) to bring the pods round, so fast units such as Skitters, Coursers or a Breaker reach it and tear it apart. Alone it is the weakest launch unit in pure lineups (22–25% against the field), so never deploy it alone: put it in the back rows behind a tank or chaff screen that holds the enemy at range, facing the fight, with anti-air nearby. Techs change the job. Rapid Fire halves the reload to 3.3 s but cuts the reach to 15.5 tiles, for steady pressure on a held front. Long Barrels adds 4 tiles to out-reach other artillery and back-line snipers. Heavy Rocket makes every hit 2,084 and raises each rocket's hp from 300 to 900, for breaking heavies. Heavy Plating (2,895 hp, +60 block) helps it outlast the splash that leaks past the screen.

The Salvo as it is in the game (the v4 tracked carrier), drawn as an isometric figure. Fire plays attack_salvo: the rams drive both pods from 28° to 55° (0.10–0.95 s, the right pod 0.05 s behind), 4 rockets leave 0.15 s apart, left and right in turn (1.15–1.60 s), and the pods lower (2.25–2.95 s) while the magazine refills the tubes. The pods have no turret ring, so the hull is the aim: outside the 20° cone on the dial the treads counter-rotate and the carrier pivots at 50.75°/s; on the march the belts roll at the drive speed. Tech parts: the Rapid Fire autoloader on each pod, the Long Barrels tube collar, the Heavy Plating slabs; Heavy Rocket only changes the rockets. Numbers come from the game's catalog and animation plan.
