On the battlefield. The Templar is a heavy rifleman: a single 250-supply body (unlocked for 50) with 16,500 HP and one weapon, a battle rifle that hits ground and air, 1,100 damage every 0.8 s out to 110 m (1,375 damage a second). It holds its range and fires for the whole battle, and the heat blade on its back stays sheathed. On the range the rifle takes the Mirage (5,118 HP) in 5 shots and the Aegis (11,991 HP) in 11. In the launch matrix it beats the Ridgeback, Needle, Courser, Rotor, Mirage, Seraph and Aegis; one body firing one round at a time is weak to focused heavy fire and to swarms of cheap machines that each take a whole shot, and it loses to the Skitter, Hexguard, Heron, Cutter, Torch, Aurochs, Anvil, Weaver, Salvo, Bombard, Rampart, Sunspire, Citadel, Landship, Dreadnought and Archangel. Field it in the second line, behind something that holds the front, facing the enemy's main body: from there the rifle covers ground and air for the whole fight. Squires deploy 2 Ridgebacks with it to screen it from rushes; Seeker Missiles add a volley of 2 missiles every 5 s (2,000 each, ground and air, out to 160 m but not inside 45 m); Reactive Plates take 80% off the first 5 hits; Long Barrels reach 150 m; Heavy Plating adds 40% HP (23,100) and blocks 60 from every hit.

The Templar as it moves in the game: an upright knight's stride, 0.9 s a cycle with each foot planted 58% of it, the rifle held at the shoulder; the body turns on its waist ring toward its target and the rifle pitches up at fliers. The shot leaves 0.1 s into each 0.8 s, every interval for as long as it has a target. On the bench the range is drawn far closer than 110 m, and both bodies stand up again once they are down. Numbers come from the game's catalog and its animation data; the drawing is an isometric figure, not the game mesh.
